My story.

My fascination with photography and the power it has to communicate a world of emotion in a single image began in art college.

I lived in Wales and against the backdrop of a challenging home life, college stood out to me as a beacon of opportunity, change and a chance to discover and escape to a whole new world. I learned about photography and thrived in capturing the perfectly flawed honesty of life, until the camera became an extension of my own hand.

And then at 19, I fell in love with an Iraqi student from Kuwait.

After art college, I travelled across continents to live with him. Far from the lush greenery of my Welsh hometown, the dry, scorching heat of the Kuwait desert became my home for the next twelve years. There were rules to follow, ways to dress and an order to the way we lived, but it was also beautiful and loud with character, colour and the hum of local life. I loved it.

We married, had three children and I had a camera in my hand throughout.

“Dropping yourself in an entirely new and different place has a remarkable effect in heightening your senses. You almost have to re-learn everything.”

I learned to listen, empathise, show compassion and embrace the opportunities and challenges that presented themselves, often in buckets, along the way.

Despite being a foreigner, with little understanding of the language, photography brought me closer to the people and captured the ordinary and extraordinary details of Middle-Eastern life in a way that words could not. I learned the beautiful details of my new home through photography and perhaps most of all, I learned that we are all connected through the power of stories.

We understand the world through stories.

Storytelling is one of the most powerful ways of creating human connections because rooted at the heart of them all is emotion. Meaningful connections grow through empathy, laughter and tears in a way that doesn’t just highlight our similarity but also makes us human. And being human is essential to the success of a small business.

In business, being human and authentic helps to create powerful connections with your ideal clients. No matter where you are in your journey, your business has grown from who you are, where you’ve been and continues to grow through your vision for the future. We all have a story and impactful photography will help you to capture this in a way that’s powerful and authentic to you.

“I want to help small business owners, just like you, to share their story through a brand photography experience that places them at the heart of their business.”

Whether you’re a creative entrepreneur or the founder of a corporate firm, I can help you:

Share your story.

We all have a story and sharing this with the world will not only help people to better understand you but will also bring clarity to your vision and purpose in the world. I’ll listen to yours and support you in capturing imagery that brings it to life in full colour.

Connect with your ideal customers.

The real potential of your brand photography lies in how you use them in your business. I’ll show you how to use your imagery in a way that will connect with your ideal clients across your website and social media.

“While my studies at art college taught me the practical techniques of good photography, my time in Kuwait brought my learning into the living world. I understand the power of photography because I’ve seen it myself – it can bring people closer and create powerful emotional connections. In business, its power is just the same.”
