BENEFITS OF OUTDOOR PLAY

PLAYING OUTSIDE IS FUN, EXCITING AND SO IMPORTANT FOR YOUR CHILD'S DEVELOPMENT.  LET'S LOOK AT JUST SOME OF THE BENEFITS OF GETTING OUR CHILDREN OUTDOORS!

Helping your baby to sleep better at night

Did you know that babies and toddlers sleep better at night if they've had some fresh air and sunshine during the day?  That's definitely worth a walk or play outdoors!  They also feel happier and calmer.  Being outside means that children naturally get vitamin D, which helps improve moods and create a positive mental attitude.

Outdoor play is a great way to learn!

Getting outdoors is a brilliant sensory experience for babies and toddlers with so much for them to see, explore and learn.  The outdoor space is less crowded, less intimidating and helps children to naturally come out of their shells and be more social too.  This means that your toddler will be more willing to join in games and activities, while they will also be more likely to talk to different children and make new friends.

Encouraging a healthy lifestyle

Through physical activity and challenges, being outdoors helps children sleep, eat and live more healthily.  With more room to play in, children are often more active outside, which helps them to build strong bones and good fitness levels, while also enabling them to burn off extra energy and calories.

So let's get them outdoors!
